I have to buy a new pinion yoke anyway and order a new drive shaft. Can I get a 1350 U-Joint on a 904 slip yoke? What U-joints are you running with your combos? Dart with 408, 904, 3000 stall and 3.89 gears. FABO Rocks!!!

1350 are about the best you can get.

Is it overkill for you, possibly.

If budget isn't a problem, then go for the 1350's. The 904/1350 yoke is pretty expensive last I looked. I couldn't find one for under about $175 IIRC. I've got a place you can get a driveshaft really reasonable.

Thanks Crackedback. What would you recommend? 1330 or 1310? Where is your drive shaft place?

1350's on my duster with a billet pinion yoke...better to be safe then sorry:-D:-D

Here is what I have been working on today. Just mocking up the rear end housing, coilovers and squaring up the 4-link. So far so good. As soon as my axles get here I will have a roller. My plans are also to tie in subframe connectors with my 4-link crossmember. Should be plenty strong.

Sent you a PM, call Joel.

There is a 1330 yoke for a 904, maybe a conversion u-joint to save a few bucks if that's what's in the cards.

The 1410 Series U Joint are even stronger but that's just total overkill alright lol

7290's will probably be fine depending on how much track time it gets, one of my friends with a 340 swinger had to upgrade to 1350's when he swapped to a 408 and the 60's got into the 1.3's, the 7290's lived for years when it had a 340 and was cutting 1.47-48's. His car only gets track time and is launched off a transbrake at 4k everytime.

Overkill for sure unless you can hook it up and have a stick. I use a 7290 joint in the rear of my Scamp and a solid 7260 joint up front. It's left on a transbrake in this car and the Duster @ 3100 lbs and I've yet to break it. Broke plenty of 7290's with the 4 speed though.

There is a local drive line shop making me up one with all 1330s with 3" tube. I already have a 1330 pinion yoke laying around and the 3rd member is getting set up tommorrow. I think I will be fine running the 904. Thanks for the input.

I run 1350s cuz our valiant is only gonna get faster. 410 hughes cnc fullport eddys wit h208s .680 comp roller 12.5 to1 and getting ready for Rons injection and alky this winter.

If you are buying a new drive shaft / yoke why not? can't hurt...

The only issue is the 904 yoke - does someone make a 7290 -> 1350 conversion yoke?

one of the last things you want to happen is have a u joint fail especially a front one at high speed. i dont care what mythbuster say, i saw several cars get the back wheels off the ground, one went straight up on the front bumper the completer rear axle came out of the car after the rod ends broke it then came down luckily on its side instead of the roof, and yes it did have a shaft loop. one area not to be cheap you can have a killer driveshaft made that will cost you 4-500 and never have to worry about it. you can get something pretty decent even for less. if you can get away with out using conversion joints it will keep the cost down some.

Leave the front 904 slip and when you have the shaft built tell them you want a 1310 weld yoke and use the spicer 5-789 which is 1310x7260 SPL, then use the 1350 end yoke and 5-800 joint for the rear..
Do that in a 3.5" AL shaft and like that, your good to well over 700hp

Never use a 1310 x 1350 style conversion joint or 1330 x 1350 style conversion joint in a race app.... street **** and the DD fine..

I have the 7260/7290 joints in my 66 Dart with 408,made 50 passes this season with no issues.I just had my driveshaft checked out and rebalanced and said to replace the joints if needed? They didn,t replace them cause they were fine.

Is there a 7290/1350 Conversion u joint?

904 with 1350 slip yoke/1350 on ends of drive shaft to 7290 Pinion yoke.....

There is a 7290 x 1350, again that is the same X as a 1330 x 1350 and they fail in race apps.
Use the 5-788 joint at the slip.

Call Dennis at Victory he makes a 1330 series 904 slip then you can have the shaft made with 5-800 at the rear and 5-791 at the slip
