Hi guy's

Normally when I buy a car and it has 14 inch rims I take them off and get some 15's, but this time around I'm rethinking that, mostly because I picked up a set of 14 inch rallye's really cheap :)

Whats the pros and cons of 14 vs 15, not counting looks, I totally get that. My car is just a 74 Duster cruiser/driver and will never see the track, I'm thinking 255/60/14 out back and either 215/60/14 or 225/60/14 up front, tires will be BFG Ta's

Thanks for any input, I didn't ask about fit because I assume those tires will fit as they are not that big.

I couldn't decide so I got 255x60-15's on the back and 225x70-14's on the front. I like the way the 15's fill the wheel well.

yep, 15 do fill up the well nice, I got these rallye's for $160 with the center caps included, good deal for me, I guess I'm trying to talk myself into the 14's before I buy the tires. :)

Should look ok I think, do you think 255/60/14's on the back are tall enough?

Looking at the BF-TA sheet I got they don't make a 255/60/14, it's either a 245/60/14 which is 25.6"dia or a 265/50/14 at 24.5". The 255/60/15's are 27.1". So comparing the 245 to the 255's is only 1 1/2"dia. or 3/4" all the way around which isn't a lot. Ask around to the other guys who may be running 14's on the back and get some pictures.

ahhh, 245's would work, I don't like the front and the back to be to different in width, maybe 225's on front and 245's on back will look good.

Thats what I've got on the dart, They dont look all that much different unless you get pretty close to the car.

Demon, that combo you've got looks real nice

Here is my car with 14x6's with 235/60-14 all the way around.

Now here is my car with 15x8 with 255/60-15's on the back and 15x7 with 225/60-15's on the front.

I like the larger diameter and wider rim. It better fills out the wheel well and moves the side wall out towards the fender well lip.

I think mainly you need @ least a 15" wheel if your gonna change to larger brakes ,for clearance . That's what I'm doin on My Dart.
Also I've heard there's less and less options for tires for the smaller wheels .
Especially now that vehicles are coming from the factory with 16" and larger wheels .

My 72 Demon sits on 15 inch (7" width) cop car rims. Stockton wheel advised me that the 235/60-15 was the largest package I could use. Since I had a pair of 255/60s already mounted, I tried them. Too close to the leaf spring in the rear and wouldn't clear the front wheel wells. I went with a set of 235/60-15 T/As and have had no problem yet.
