170 or 225 for super 6 build?

-
I got laid off July of 08 and have not found anything yet..........

Duuuude, you're building a Slant, not a Hemi. Even a good 225 will not grenade rear ends or transmissions unless you're a complete tool.

depends who you ask about me being a tool! :-D

sounds like the offy/390 or 500. i dont have any real experience with tuning carbs, other than tweaking idle speed, mixture screws. synching the two carbs on my honda twin was fun. i do have the mopar 6 cyl book with recipes for hot sixes, so that will help. shows which jets, etc. to run.

really just want a street car that can have some fun at the stop lights/backroads. you guys are great help!

Yes you can make it move. A 170 is a fun motor. Get with Charrlie S about really getting the most out of a 170. This is what he races with all the time. Ive seen alot of 13 sec passes with his car that weighs 3000lbs personally.
Frank

Don't forget that he's pumping a boatload of nitrous through it to run 13's.
