1963 Valiant V200 Wagon

well i got some primer on the engine bay. i used a little glaze in the spots with deep pitting. then i put another coat of primer on. i didnt go crazy trying to smooth everything out. but it still looks a million times better than it did. it might have a few runs i will have to sand out. but its my first time using a paint gun. and at least i will be able to say i put that run there!

excellent job my friend....looks good. alot of people dont understand and dont appreciate how sweet it is to be able to do all of this stuff(rebuilding a car) lookin good

It's looking good! One tip....drill and tap a hole in the pot coupling on the steering gear for a zerk fitting, it will go a long way toward making the coupling last longer, and it's easy to do with the engine bay empty.Orient it so it's easy to reach with the wheels straight ahead. Just don't sling grease all over that new primer!
2nd tip; If there are any of the foam seal parts that are in good shape, but look pooly, you can revitalize them by giving them a coat of black flexible bumper paint. Works great on black plastic parts like fan shrouds too.
Keep up the good work!

Good job ! That looks great! Can't believe what a change that does for that wagon.

Looks awesome, can't believe how nice the sheet metal under there looked stripped of the paint. I knew that wagon was a nice buy...congrats on a nice job:cheers: look forward to more pics of it done!!

Just Remember Old Cars Are Never Done,,,we Always Want To Change Some Thing,,, Good Job,,,

thanks guys. there are a few spots i need to wet sand and buff. i got a light spray in a few spots so it is kind of rough. i put two coats of clear so im not too worried about sanding through it. i just figured i would use 1500 or 2000 and wet sand it. but im having fun with it and thats really all that matters. i havent heard back from the machine shop yet, they are supposed to be checking the new block i got and the old crankshaft. but im in no hurry. i have my new brake and fuel lines to install!

well i put some por-15 on the rear floor pans today. it worked out well. looks alot better than rusty floors.

well its been a while since i have posted any progress. last weekend a friend helped me rebuild the 904 for the wagon. thats one more thing checked off my list. and i started putting the engine together last week. still checking the bearings though. the engine is at my dads house, so i can only get to it on the weekends, or after work when i dont have school. my schedule has slowed me down a bit. here are some pictures.

Sweet!
You´ve done a great job with your wagon, you should be proud of it.

PLEASE keep it up with the photo-diary!

I just LOVE seeing guys not only do they're own work, but photograph it and SHARE it with everyone. I photographed almost every damn thing I did with my car, and at times it's been helpful with other members whom are attempting to do what I did already. Your engine compartment work is inspirational! Nice job!

Wagon is looking great and it's an early-A no less... definitely way-cool. 8)

here are some pictures of my six finally getting put together. i put the pistons in last night. im waiting on my cam from erson, and a few other little parts. i also cleaned and painted some brackets. i put a picture of my cracked oil seal cap. i will be getting a new one from doug dutra soon. oh and i rebuilt the transmission. sorry no pics of that though.
