I am installing a 1988 318 in my 1965 Barracuda and using my original 904 transmission. The rear of the crank is to big so they make a bushing for this application. Today I tried to install it into the crank it went in to loose.. pushed in with my fingers all the way. Doesn't fit snug. Is this normal. I thought it would fit snug and be driven in with block of wood and small hammer..I think the bushing outside was machined to small. 178.mm should be 181.mm what do you guys think.??

You might need something custom. It should be easy to build.

Had to use this on pushbutton 904 to 340 crank.
Measured crank register at 1 3/4 with a pocket tape lol

1.81", which is 45.947mm, ...a 46mm OD Bushing would be a .001" interference fit. Glad they're sending You another one. I have seen people forget the converter bolts & fire an engine up, so check the crank pocket just the same for dimension, peace.

Will do 1.55 inside.. knurled the outside of bushing. Worked. Added just enough for snug fit.
