If it weren’t so expensive to ship out of the US I could send a pound or 2 of hog rings; I have at least 4-5 pounds of them!
Don! I found a box of hog rings!! So the rear seat backnis done as well as the rear seat back. It takes some time to add the hog rings but well worth it.

Today I was able to do the reat seat. It's a little tricky but well spent two hours gave result.

My taxi machine showed up today too. Next will be a sign on the roof.

Took me two hours to take off this rusty fender. Worst I ever seen. Next is to prepare for the new front fender. But needs to do the primer and paint first. The rusyed inner fender will be cut out and replace with new metal.
The splash shields needs to be replaced as well. They are dead.
Added the instrument cluster too after I checked it.

Finally the left front fender is in place. It's not 100%. I tried to make it look 58 years old!
Thanks Don for your input. This was way better!

I cleaned the tranny this morning. Mostly dust och some dirt.
The person who dis assembled the car did it in a proper way. All cables, linkage, wires and bolts are still in place. They even stabilised the converter.
It was a long time since I saw a cork gasket on the tranny pan. Some cleaning, new filter and we are good to go.

The last two mouldings needed one clips each. I cut two equal steel plates and cut one 45 degrees due to end of right rear door. Drilled a 5 mm hole centered in the middle. After that I stole the bolts from two old clips. Then I just hammered the bolt down and adjusted the new clips. Then some new paint and we're good to go.

The inner fender wasn't in best shape. I fabricated a new flare to weld in place.
Next was to add the front seat cover. A friend helped me out but after 53 years off the seat it has shrinked! A friend of mine in the Ford camp told me to add a carbage bag to help the friction with the seat cover and voila here it is in place!

Finally the welding took place this morning. Some primer and paint and the fender could be mounted with some adjustments.
The front bench seat was as easy as you said Don @65 Dartman. After two hours it was back together. I can't believe the condition after all these years.
Wonder when the new carpet arrives?

Did taxis over there have some kind of roof mounted or other location sign advertising it was a taxi for hire

Yes, they did have a taxi sign mounted on a bow. Then they had a taxameter (don't know the name in english) so they knew how much money the trip cost and finally a communication radio where they got all the business from.

When I restored the first Dart Charger 273 I found out that the replacement carpet was wrong. I measured it and sent a letter to Legendary and ACC and they made the neccesary changes.
Two weeks ago I ordered a new carpet for the taxi. Of cause it's an ACC carpet. I must admit it's a pleasure when it just fit right from the beginning.
Tomorrow the front seat will be there too!

Finally the test of the interior is in place. Even the badge with old tax stockers is there as well as the Saab dealer sign with the first owners name. SAAB sold Chrysler cars from the 40ies up to mid 70ies.

The headliner is held in place with six bows. Anyone have a clue in which way they go? They have paint marks in the ends.
Anyone have any input?

Maybe they’re marked as to which way they go in the body section of the FSM

I just checked my FSM and there is nothing in there as to the order of the bows except when removing the bows ensure they are installed in the new headliner in the same order as removed. I will have the same problem with the bows for my new wagon headliner

Thanks Don! I wonder if I mentioned anything in my wagon thread?

I bought my wagon headliner on ebay quite awhile ago from a supplier who had off white, tan, blue, black and several other colors for the early A. I’ll see if I can find who that was

Very cool little car! Nice work so far, too!
