I'm sure most of you on this knowledgable site have heard of this rare MOPAR. It's the 1965 Dart GT Charger package, still has the original 273 4bbl which is also designated on the fender tag, it is no longer yellow but the engine bay still is and it does have the "999" paint code. And lastly it has the all important notch cutout above the driver exhaust tip. It no longer has the charger badges, although I've been told and have read on allpar that some chargers never recieved badges. This car runs and drives great and the body is nearly flawless. Call Joe 405-703-2141 with any questions.

Won't last long. How about some photos?

I'm sure 65dartcharger will be in contact with you soon. He is restoring one by the numbers and is VERY knowledgeable about them

You were right Ulf contacted me and took down my fender tag info and VIN number and congratulated me on the 27th known Charger in the registry!! Not only that but it is one of the original 180 built at the factory (around 300 others were modified at the dealership). I tried posting pics but they didn't show up, is there a trick to that? Anyway now that I have confirmation of how rare it is I may hold on to it although I will still entertain offers and trades...

Pics are prolly just too large...try resizing, and then repost. 640 x 480 works well.

I can't seem to shrink it. Send me your e-mail and I'll send you pics or look on Oklahoma City craigslist

You're welcome!

Thanks alot Val! I need to take a computer course.

Actually, you don't. Microsoft makes a good little resizer, oddly enough, called "Image Resizer". :) You can get it from the Microsoft Power Toys website.

I don't want to buy it...I was just looking to help you get the pics posted here.

Anyway, to save some time and effort, here's a link to the craig's ad w/pics...

Well there it is, thanks everyone for the help, obviously it's not it's original yellow(the engine compartment is though) but it's in great shape.

This interest me because I have been racing a 1965 Dart GT. It was a 273 V4. I never thought much of it. I have to admit I chucked out all the stock BS and replaced everything. 340 518 8 3/4

I looked at the rear of the car and there is a notch cut out on the L side rear.

It gets worse, A friend of mine crashed it last week on a wet bridge.

My question, how do I know what it was?

Actually, just because it has the rear valance cut-out, doesn't mean it's a gennie Dart Charger....just means the car came w the 273-4barrel motor. Just like a Barracuda can be a Formula S, but isn't necesarrily ,because it came w the 273 4barrel.

Well I feel a little better. We've raced the La Carrera Panamericana x3 in this one and the El Expresso x4.

IS there anyway to tell if it was a charger w/o the engine or is there a code on the fender tag?

Thanks
