1966 barracuda weight?

-
When I was drag racing mine 66 cuda I would occasionally get on the scale at the track, it would come in around 3150 =/- a little. It had a 318 with 14 in wheels on it and had been upgraded to 8 3/4 rear, modern u joint driveshaft, front and rear roll bars, and a few other goodies, Otherwise basic stock outside and inside. also this is without any spare tire extra weight. My current 65 formula S is almost the same 8 1/4 rear, rally wheels, has a spare, road car but set up very much same way mechanically but never been on the scale! It has run down the track mid 15 sec quarter mile vs the high 12 low 13 the 66 used to go! Just takes some motor upgrades and oh MONEY!!! I accept Visa and MasterCard.....OYE VEY!!

Donations are welcome 65 CudaLover LOL!!

Factory Listed Shipping Weight,

As per the NHRA was #2940 lbs. for the 273/235 HP Commando.

They factored in at 12.51 Weight-to-Horsepower.

The 'Curb Weight', with all fluids and a full tank of gas.....Add +145 lbs.

One of our old 1966 Plymouth Barracuda 273/180 HP 2-Barrel was listed at
#2930 lbs. by the NHRA, and was factored in in at 16.27 Wt/Hp -
which fit into N/Stock in 1968.

When it was brought to the 'weigh-in scale' in 1968, it hit a touch
over 3000 lbs., without the driver.

My 66 Cuda is 3250 lbs with me. 170 slant six auto, 8 3/4 rear. Stock exhaust removed, some weight added, so it should be about equal. I weigh 190 lbs. I would suggest a weight range of 3,000-3,200 depending on options, and wheels/tires would be fairly close

I weighed mine on a scale at a moving company. It read 3360 without me in it and with about a half tank of gas...

A good friend took his 66 to the Co-Op and weighed it when we were in college. It was a stock 273 two barrel, 904 with 8-3/4. The car, half a tank of gas and him weighed in at 3215 lbs. I was surprised as the factory information listed quite a bit less and his registration listed 2865. I was going to weigh my 64 but we had a hailstorm that afternoon which got in the way of weighing my car. With the 833 in mine I was guessing mine would have to be even heavier even with the 7-1/4 rear.

Mine was 3430 with me (180)
Steel wheels aluminum rad and 360 /904/ 8 1/4

You can always take it to a truck stop and weight your car on the scale. Just putting that out there for you guys.
