Cars a 1966 Plymouth barracuda. Put on a new master just go get it going around town. The bolt under the master leaks I’ve tightening it maybe one whole more turn. It’s tight but out the box leaks?
Added a photoBolt under the master cylinder? How about a photo?
Thank you Teflon tape fixed it but now my rpm goes up when I apply the brake sounds like a vacuum leak hoses a good start? Have you read about people rebuilding the brake booster?Faulty part. Either get a new one, or, try to seal this one. Look at the casting real well to see if there is a crack. If it looks good, you could try some teflon tape around the plug, but, I think I'd get another one.
Yes it is the tube on my reservoir came out when I tried to remove the hose. Do I have to keep the reservoir?Yup, sounds like the booster is bad. Is it the original one with the remote vacuum reservoir?
Where do you get yours from I checked google didn’t really see any that didn’t have a plug?I have had a couple of new master cylinders like that leak at that plug. Some will aways leak. A master cyl from a 64 fury is the same but without the plug on the bottom. That is what I order now.
You maybe looking at the manual brakes I have a booster.NAPA on line shows the 64 fury master without the bottom plug. The push rod is the same as 66 barracuda and comes with the spring too.
