I bought this back in 2009 and finally getting some work done to it. A lot actually. I took the engine in and had a complete rebuild (machined, new pistons, rebuilt heads, pretty much everything)
I got it all put together and primed the oil pump and we only got oil through the one side up top. So I tore the other head back off and turned it over and finally got oil to the other side.
My question might be stupid but I am not sure. Without tearing it apart more is the cam not grooved so it only gets oil while it's running? Is that the design?
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks Jeff

Hi and welcome to FABO. I do beleave you have to rotate
the engine to get oil to both heads.
Please post some pics of your fish.

Looks great, have you been driven the fish until you started the resto?
Whish I had the funds to buy an H-code vert.

Please tell us more about your Fish, is it an auto or 4-speed. Does it still have the factory drivetrain? What paint are you going with?

I am the 3rd owner, my step dad was the 2nd owner and he bought it back in 1972. I found the build sheet and I have the certi card that was still under the hood. Still has the original motor and transmission, but the motor just got refreshed working on putting back together. The color you see is original and that is the color that I will stick with. ( even though the the young lady in the picture wants red)
