Picking at the dash- polished all the chrome bits, painted the shell, sandblasted the ashtray and painted. Painted and installed the glovebox hinges.

Visited the bodyshop.

Fooling around with dash pieces- This stock one isn't the one I'm going to use so I practiced on it. Sprayed the chrome areas with silver and then masked off and shot with black. The black is a semi-gloss but looks too shiny. I'll have to compare to a NOS piece to see if its correct or not.

Not going to get them re-chromed, way out of my budget.

Picked at the dash more today... remember the piece in the center is temporary... The black used is actually bumper cover paint, perfect sheen.

Tinkering around today- Painted speedo bezel (one more step to go, need to paint black on bottom) and glued foam to drivers side airbox. Also finished repairs to cardboard glovebox and installed. Body shop has moved on to passenger side quarter panel, it should be done tonight.

Car might be in paint this weekend, I'll have to clean out the garage =)

He was masking off the engine paint last night and scuffing everything down. I'll need to get the battery tray down there to get painted too along with the interior trim that is going to be gloss black.

Today they were planning on shooting the door jams and trunk edges.

NICE!
Cant wait to see it done parked next to your other Mopar
"coming soon!" ... Dad can I have the keys to the Dart ? !!!!

The paint guy is on fire today! Car will have color before the weekend is out.

I see something missing....

The striker bolt hole!!! Do you have a trick door latch?

Color looks awsome. I love that blue. Can't wait till you start putting it back together..

Was just going to drill it after the car was painted and the door aligned. I welded a 1/4 inch steel plate there and replaced the sheet metal as it was beat to death.

Home.

Sorry, take it back to where you got it. You said it wasn't coming home until Wednesday, it's only Tuesday.

;-)

Looks Great!

Car looks awsome in full color. Hope you have a great time putting it back together.

Ordered a new front bumper from AMD, might send the rear out to Tri-City in TN.

AMD front bumper came in, mint! Thanks to 521 Restorations, excellent service!

I have been doing a lot of research on turboing my slant six in my truck as it has been always been something that has interested me and I just realized that you are the guy that runs the site TheDodgeGarage website. When I was going through this thread again I was looking at the very first pictures and realized it was the same ones and the primer was in the same spots as the car on the other website. I guess I know who to talk to when I need info on 2.2 and 2.5 turbo's from now on. I hadn't realized it was you until just recently. Like I was saying I am going to turbo the Slant in my 83 Stepside. I just got done installing an A833OD in it from another truck that I pulled at the junk yard and although it is a lot quieter inside at cruising speed I am somehow getting worse mileage currently. I am contributing it to the fact I have to warm it up before I can drive it in the morning. Either way I want to put a Garret turbo on it with an intercooler mounted in front of my radiator because I have a lot of space there. It would be cool if I could pick your brain and learn about setting up and running these turbo's and what not.

Thanks
Jeff
