Do you/they have other "added weights" like bucket seats, A/C, vinyl top.... etc?

There is not an option for "appearance undercoating" So I'll assume that is the undercoating that came with every car standard. Except for Super Stock cars, that also did not come with seam sealers and other stuff.

* Vinyl Top w/Trim ....................... 8 lbs.
* Air Conditioning System ........... 115 lbs.
* Radio ....................................... 7 lbs.
* Heater Box .............................. 18 lbs.

* Appearance Undercoating was limited to the Inner-Fenderwells.

I believe that the Bucket Seats and Bench Seat came in close to the same exact weight.

So 340 cars are about 150 lbs heavier than 318 cars...

That darn 4 bbl must be real heavy compared to the 2 bbl....

* Engine Block Weight
* Intake Manifold Weight
* 8 3/4 Rear
* Heavy-Duty Suspension
* Dual Exhaust

The 318 'Shipping Weight' was based upon an A-904 Automatic Transmission.
The 340 'Shipping Weight' was based upon an A-727 Automatic Transmission.

It would be interesting to see the weight of the 318 with an 8 3/4", 727, and heavy duty suspension compared to the 340...

Engine wise, there should not be that much difference in weight between the 318 and 340...

I always was under the impression that Buckets weigh more. two extra seat tracks, two extra hinges... ??

So a heater is not included in those base barracuda weights?

Why would they use a base weight on an option transmission? The 3 spd manual was base on a 318 and 4 speed base on a 340. That just seems odd. And Heater and appearance undercoating is standard with all Barracuda (except S/S):???:

Is this info coming from a factory shipping weights document?? Or something else??

In 1968,

The Heater was part of 'standard equipment'.

So it was calculated as part of the Shipping Weight numbers.

Total for A/J would seem to be 3431
I measured mine at 3464 no driver,
the various other mods adding up to the difference, still a pig IMO, compared to the Duster/Demons
