1968 dart remove instrument cluster

Don't try without dropping the steering coloumn. You can get the cluster out, but you will break the pins on the printed circuits.
 
Procedure is found in factory service manuals. Most are free downloads so... No excuse for not having one.

Unhook the battery ground!!!

Drop the column. Some years there is an additional bolt (s) besides the two obvious ones holding the column. Remove the floor bolts and let the column sag down. Get up in there and disconnect the speedo

Then work it out, and sort of "hinge it down." Remove the ammeter nuts, and carefully unplug the cluster from the harness.
