(WIW).What's it worth????

I have a chance to make an offer on a 1970 AMX , 390, Hurst 4 spd, big rear, not sure what gears, rust free southern car, been inside for 15 years.
Complete, numbers matching car.

Needs a total restoration but has been primered.

What is it worth in current unrestored condition (primered).

What's it worth restored?

It,s hard to put a price on something we,re not sure what has been done to it,pics?Regardless,The AMX is one of my top 10 alltime favorite muscle cars, they are a rare bird around these parts.Hope you can pick it up for a deal!=P~

It should have 3:91's in it...I've been looking and they are running from $5000 needing resto to $ 30,000. done right. I had a 70 in 72, leather interior was an option along with a functional scoop, as part of the go-pack which would have had stripes, am 8-track, ralley wheels, sidepipes, and A/C, power steering and brakes..if it has or had factory stripes that woud make it a go-pack... Good Luck...

Saw these recently...mine was like the green one only with a blacked out hood.

as stated above for price, i see them go for 3500-5000 in rough shape, 9000-13/14 for driver and then up from there depending on how nice it is.

the 390 is a big plus... ive been looking for a 390 for my amx and the engine alone is a small fortune.

70 is when the ram air come out so if all the pieces are there for it makes it more money

69-70 amx is gonna be next car i buy after i get my 73 cuda done. i have 3 79 amxs and love them (purist say no such thing same as a 77 roadrunner)

I passed this one up for $800.00 back in the old days. My brother
had it.

Wish I had that decision to make over again. The AMX needed some
seat covers and a carpet. Was a 390 Go Package.

I just recently saw a hornet and hornet wagon, amx's are cool. Buy it theres even a hot wheel for u to custom to look the same as ur real one lol!

The AMX is one of my top 10 alltime favorite muscle cars
Ill 2nd that! If its solid and all there Id offer as much as I could afford because, like others here have said, they top out pretty high after a thorough restoration. Good luck, hope you land it!!!

dec 2010 old cars price guide

#6 $1,400 "parts car" may or may not run, stripped/wrecked to the point of being a parts car only

#5 $4,200 "restorable" May or may not run, might have missing parts, in need of complete repair

#4 $7,000 "good" running and driveable, worn some, needing minor repairs

#3 $15,750 "Very Good" overall good condition

#2 $24,500 "Fine" original or restored car

#1 $35,000 "Excellent" Restored trailer queen, not driven

Most of use would like to think of our cars as a #1 or 2, but in fact there are very few # 1 cars and most of the driver cars we own are a #3 at best. Sure some have #2 cars but to keep them in this condition and drive it is hard

I would guess to restore one of these would be hard and expensive if many parts are needing restored/replaced.

Love the cars would make one cool ride to cruise in, just look at the BIG picture and make sure you are up to it.

If you buy the car for $5,000 and it cost you $15,000 to restore it to # 2 condition, good deal if you don't count your labor.

good luck on your decision

Wow, all AMC? How many cars showed up? I have a pretty good eye for old muscle and I think I have seen about 5 in as many years around So.Cal on the road or even parked. Rare is right. But that is a cool ride, wouldn't do a 2nd gen Javelin though, still a little too quirky.

Okay, I've been lied to, not really but the owner really did not know what he had I guess.

By doing some more diggin I can see that it's not a AMX, but is a javelin, looks to be a 68-69, hood is missing, rest of the car complete.

I need to get the vin and try to get #'s off the engine when I go to see it.

What should I look for for engine identification #'s?

Still a cool car regardless as the javelin looks just as good in that year.

I had a 69 Javelin with the 360 in it.I had it for 6 weeks bought it all done, did some resurch on parts and pricessss scared the hell out of me so sold it.Do your home work on that, trust me.Brake rotors were like 200 each.
