Heya! I was wondering how easy is it to swap dashes on the regular duster?

It looks like this:

but wayyyy more hacked up. There are random pieces missing. Any help?
And also, would there be a way to install four point harnesses in the car without a rollbar/ cage?

So...you want to swap from that Rallye style dash, to the more common dash/instrument cluster or vice versa?

Well, what would be easier to get new gauges for?

You can make your own dash out of sheet metal. But most people want to install a rally dash.

Aftermarket gauges don't drop right in either of the stock inst' panels easily.
You could search " Peak " here to see examples of alternative panels.

Ok, lets clarify a little bit.....are you trying to restore a set of factory gauges/instrument cluster?

Or are you wanting to run aftermarket(Autometer etc) type gauges in the dash?

If you want to run stock, and replace the Rallye dash you have now, there are plenty of people that might swap ya straight across for your Rallye dash for their Base dash set up.

Even if its cut up and what not?

How about just taking a picture of the dash and posting it. That would help.

Do your homework. If you are going from standard to ralley gauges.

I think the standard gauges use a flat rectangular connector on the back for the wiring harness, and the ralley dash takes the round "bullet" electrical connection. You will need the wiring harness to make it work if that's the case.

Also take a look see at this thread.....there is a link I added to it that has a few members Rallye clusters, converted over to Aftermarket instruments.

Just cuz' your Rallye cluster looks like hell at the moment, doesn't mean you can't repair, or modify it into something more to your liking.
