I've got a Swinger that's been my supremely low budget project for the last several months. Found it on CL really close to home, felt extremely lucky, had money (for once) and had to have it.

It's a /6 904 on the column bench seat car. Basically as plain as Janes come, but with power disk brakes. Not sure on the rear end, but I'd assume it's a 7.25, nothin' special.

It's got a super six intake and carb and air cleaner.

The fuel pump just went the way of the warrior. I'll have that fixed very shortly.

The good news is as follows: the motor looks very, very clean. Before the fuel pump died it was a running, driving car. Brakes need work, but past that, no issues. Doesn't burn oil, doesn't leak oil, doesn't smoke more than it ought to, transmission's solid, etc. It's got good glass except for the windshield. New Grant steering wheel, some gauges. Some weird 16" rims that came on it.

The gas gauge and temp gauge work! This is my 6th a body and it's the only one that has been blessed in retaining that functionality. I just replaced the gas tank and the sending unit looks to be in good shape.

And now for the not-so-good news, of which there is a good amount.

It is a vinyl top car living in the Northwest, so you know what to expect. The lower passenger quarter has peeled away as much as an inch or two in places, so that needs a patch. Needs trunk pan, somebody was feeling enterprising and laid a piece of wood there to strap the gas tank to. Filler at the roof-quarter welds needs patching, and there are probably 3-4 holes where the c-pillars meet the trunk.

Solid floor pans.

Needs exhaust. Currently very loud and legally questionable.

Most people out there aren't looking for a /6 car to restore, I know. But a proficient body man could fix this thing without too much hassle, slap some paint on it, do a V8 conversion, source some better interior stuff and have a cool car on the cheap or something to turn around depending on how cards are played.

It came to me as an offwhite car with surface rust where a vinyl top should be, small dents and such needing to be filled but no wrecks or anything like that. It had tan interior, uncracked dash pad, no flooring, etc.

As it sits now it's in a layer of primer, some dents have been at least part way filled (before the rain came back and put an end to my guerilla body work) and the interior's black with front door panels, visors, and seats out of a '73 Duster and every thing else spray painted. I'm not a restorer - I just wanted it to look cool. You can laugh if you like, I don't have the money to do it right. Maybe you were there once and you know. It's got the Grant wheel, some gauges, rubber mat flooring out of the Duster, and a cheap stereo.

Which is why I'm selling it. I can't afford to fix the body, get it painted, and swap in the 318 I've got on hand like I would really like to.

If you're young like me and maybe you're looking for a solid Mopar to play around with, or maybe if you're looking for a very cheap builder that won't take all that much to be presentable, or maybe if you're looking for a cheap, cool, loud, primer rod-lookin' Mopar that as it is grabs its fair share of looks, this very well could be the car for you.

I don't think I am out of the range of reasonability asking $1300. There is a very little bit of wiggle room, but I'm trying not to lose money and I really could use it, I'm broke currently (but so is everybody, I suppose.) If I can't sell it for what I need back from it at this point, well, I'll probably have to borrow a garage to stash it in for the next couple years.

Under my recent paint mucking and interior rebuild it was a nice, solid old Dart with a little bit of rust-based trauma.

If you like, I can include a '71 318-2v/904 combo I pulled out of a Charger. Running motor, not sure on the condition of the tranny. Would sell the motor seperate if someone wanted it.

Here's the CL ad. http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/1277232752.html My phone number's in it.

Car's located in Aberdeen, WA, which is about an hour from Olympia, two hours from Seattle and about the sameish from Portland.

Thanks for reading my novella. $1300ish

Oh yeah, and as it says in my CL ad, I'm kinda having an issue getting up to date pictures (which is why the one above is from before I was done fiddling with it.) If you are seriously interested in the car and want to see some detailed pictures of the body issues before coming to look or take it home I can borrow a digital camera and get you some.

How about $1200? Anyone? Talked to FABO user Bayyum about a possible sale but nothing is for certain and I sure would like it sold..
