I ordered a new battery cable for my Duster from TNT Parts. It is supposed to be an OEM cable. When I attempted to install it only one of the connections at the battery would work, the other (smaller one) was too large to fit over the post on the starter. The starter seems to be small for this car and is definitely original. I have read online there are "mini" starters for these cars that allows more clearance for installation. There were Headman Headers on the engine when I got the car. I don't want to drill out the connection on a brand new cable and this starter didn't seem very strong anyway. Any suggestions are appreciated.

These were not intended to be starter pictures, they were of me replacing the butchered clutch parts but there is some view of the starter. I will need to get more tonight.

The mini starter will indeed spin your engine faster, and I have never seen one not have more TQ then the older arigenal ones, mine works great, spent 7 years on my slant 6 and now it's on my 360 engine, same starter for all these years. And up grade in my eyes.

Yup. Upgrade fo sho! I love the one I put on Vixen. Just not original if you're into that kinda thAng......and me and you ain't. LOL

You have a Mini Starter (not original on there) You can get an adapter or drill out/ file the hole a little bigger. You could also get an original Starter if you're taking it back to original. Originals don't fit well with Headers

Adapter sounds like the way to go. There are SO many issues with this car that I am not sure the starter was the problem. Everything done on it was done poorly.

Drill out the lug! You do NOT want as terminal 'adaptor'. It adds more connection points/resistance to a circuit that needs all the amps it can get....

Or, tedious but a small rat tail file. Kinda turn by hand until it fits. Or spin a drill in reverse against a piece of wood.
