1973 Duster Build

Trunk pan repaired. Front floor pans installed. Need to wire brush the floors and inspect but they are solid. Scraped all the seam sealer out. Will redo, deadener, get ready for carpet on down the road. These two items will not go back in the car.....

This car is prime example of a nice hotrod that someone put under a cover and never looked at it again..... But on the other hand would have not considered selling it unless they were dead. Which is exactly what happened.... Nice recovery on the the Tasmanian devil lol....

Windshield comes out, dash comes out. Debating on rewiring the whole car with aftermarket air and gauges. Going to make a list soon.....!

Lookin good Doug! When I was looking thru the pics, I noticed that you are being particularly careful with the blue wire looms, so you can reuse them. :poke::D Keep up the good work.

I was actually going to make a comment about leaving it there....! I have to get some bins and tags to get after the underhood!

Did that have the AC brackets for the 318? I would be willing to take the one on the left side of the compressor that goes over to the intake manifold off your hands :).

I am not certain. I will have to look back at pics. I do have a pile of different brackets lying around. I have some time off later in the month and would be glad to look for you. Just need someone to pop up a pic on here for me to look at. I am going to go with a complete universal heat and AC kit on this car.

Hope this will save you some time searching......I don't think any of that stuff was on the car. The condenser was about the only thing left of the AC stuff under the hood.

Good Lord have mercy! You and I have something in common besides old Mopars…..we both married WAY over our heads! LOL Have a fun evening.

Ok team. For those of you that tune in. Minimal time on the Duster. Mopars at the Rock this weekend so I have been loading up what I need to clean up. Windshield out. Shock tower mount in rear fixed. Dash is coming out. Interior of car is to be all black. With maybe some pink stitching here and there. Need a new headliner.

Now can someone tell me after I got this trans crossmember looking minty fresh is there a difference between a 727 and a 904?

Little dude was trying to get the keys to the 72 off me....not today! Been driving it all over. Dig it.

Ok team....I think like three people actually read my babble...so if that’s you, you are on the team. Did Mopars at the Rock. Need name tags, Facebook folks walked right by me and neither of us knew. JD stopped by....and it took me a minute to figure it out. Sold some stuff, but literally only scratched the surface on my hoard. All good. Momma was happy. Not enough asses at home to drive my rides down, so the 72 Duster remains up for sale.

Put everything up on Saturday and then enjoyed Easter. Drove my daughter back home to her mom after church and brunch. Along the way I tried to help a guy in a car fire get his trailer off waiting for the fire department. Tried to put out the fire with an extinguisher, tire blew and it scared the balls up into my guts. Unfortunately no saving the ride, but the trailer lived.

I thought it was funny that the gps let me know there was an accident when I got back in the truck....wonder where she would have directed me?

Today I worked my sack off. Lowe’s with the wife for all her garden items and such. Got that all off-loaded and headed off to the shop. Collected up all the interior and loaded in the truck. Metal components are too big to blast in the cabinet so I have to take those off to another place, the get the carpet pieces made to glue on. Blasted a pile of stuff. Shot the wheel covers with black satin. I figured they would look ok. The parchment was heavily pitted and gouged. Best I can do for now. Skinned the rest of the inner doors. Only have the headliner left to take down. Took down the front end as far as I could get. Put PB blaster on every bolt I need to touch. Bagged and tagged a **** ton of stuff. Damn near got the blue wiring out. Build sheet is toast. Need those seat side plastic bezels.

Any fire can get big fast.
I had a house burn down, so I do not play around.
I keep a fire extinguisher in every vehicle.

I pulled into a camp ground one year pulling a little camper behind my jeep.
I seen smoke coming out of one guys very expensive camper, he was freaking out. Said he did not have a fire extinguisher.

I grabbed mine out of my Jeep ran up there, his kid had set the microwave on like 30 minutes to cook a bag of pop corn, no fire but alot of smoke.
No fire.
He felt like an *** afterwords, I just gave him my extinguisher out of my jeep, because I had an extra one in my old pos camper.

To this day, I have know idea how people get thru life.

This guy was on his phone behind the camper when I pulled up. Everything was locked....I used HIS extinguisher on his truck, he never even tried!?

I guess some people just freeze when a situation occurs.
