Back when I used to take running track point a little more seriously. Ended up 4th this year.

Yeah, I don't much care about points these days as, at my age, I'm in it more for the fun and fellowship at the track. But I was dead serious about points racing back in the day when I was running my 68 AMX.

Thats pretty cool ! any points racing is tough ! finishing in the top 4 is impressive as it seems like the competition is getting tougher every year

Yes there are. We were commenting on Facebook on how many are still racing the same car. Lol.
I can't remember whether I was still in the points in 85, but I think so. I'll have to check the trophies in the garage. I was on Team Dragway Park for several seasons. We won the NED Bracket Finals one year. I am the good looking thin guy on the far right.

Thats interesting !! I don't remember the year but Dragway Park couldn't fill their team and I ended up racing for them at the NED Bracket Finals .. the Finals were at U.S. 13 Dragway in Delaware that year... all I remember is they gave me this hatI can't remember whether I was still in the points in 85, but I think so. I'll have to check the trophies in the garage. I was on Team Dragway Park for several seasons. We won the NED Bracket Finals one year. I am the good looking thin guy on the far right.

Yep, that is a later hat after they changed the name, so after my time.
I found the plaque from the bracket finals at Maple Grove. It was 1983. It appears I was second in the points in heavy that year.
Good chance I was there. I know the one year we got 5-7 inches of rain from a hurricane and got the race in that weekend
I don't remember that specifically, but there were always issues to deal with, if it wasn't the weather it was the car. I always drove down and made it back home though

His name was Klaus Bork. He owned a Dairy Queen and ran a black 69 R/T called Mr. Misty
