1987 360 any good

hey guys and gals, I have a chance to buy a 87 one ton dodge van, low miles and maintained very well. I was wondering how many parts would be useable in the hot rod world.I was thinking of building a nitrous motor with the 360 and pulling my numbers 340 in fear of tearing it up, but not being a student of the 360 did not know if a later short block is a good foundation.

nothing wrong with an 87 360. 89 is when they came roller though..

See if you can find a 89 or 91(2) for the LA roller block, you be miles ahead of the game with that block.

well I would be using my 340 top end so I would be ok with hyd flat tappet

Yes you can use the 340 top end.

Plus the van may also have a 727 and a dana 60.

Anything the 340 can do the 360 will do with authority.
