Like a friend of mine always says, “the answer is between the bumpers” meaning, we all have more ET, just gotta find it lol ya 4000’ sucks. We been racing in that kinda weather the entire summer. So if you went 9.0 already in that crap, your definitely getting an 8 second pass with any kind of marginal air.

Why only 7600?

i think the car is doing good for only 5 passes on it with this engine. i started at 7200 then for the last pass i went to 7600 and car picked up nicely. i will be moving up the shift points gradually.

I have no experience with w8 stuff but I’ve heard Shilo Davies make a bunch of passes and his car sounds like it’s spinning 11,000.

I would guess you aren’t gonna need to wring it out much if any higher.
Those heads Shilo has flow a ton of air, that probably a 1000 horse deal he has, it’s been 5.0’s that I know of, it fly’s

My heads are not even close to his heads and my cam is tiny compared to his also. 704/694 lift is not big for a W8 head. I will get a new cam next year to take advantage of my head flow.

I’m way shy of 1000 hp

Yea, I think it’s running really well for the lack of work to the heads. 350@800+ lift. That sounds about like a good Indy head

by no means is it a max effort build, all i want to do is get a 8 sec slip and then concentrate on going rounds next year.

There’s video of the dyno on his old engine going to 10,000. I talked to him at Irwindale and asked him how tight he spun this one. He just said a lot. I dont think it hit 1000hp if I remember it’s close though.
