And methanol helps tame that high CR down too! It’s a drag engine, gotta make it count lol

Thank you. I cut apart a spark plug last night. Little bit rich so I will change the pill to lean it out.Hell ya. Love the high compression and how this engine runs. Nice job.
ThanksCONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
they look cool and feel even better in the cockpitExcellent! I like the wheelies too.
Thanks for sharing! Why do you think it makes only 730HP? There are some nice pieces, albeit there's more room for cam and flow, you might be surprised that it actually makes more HP! I'd bet just with what you have now with some tuning it'll show about 800! I'm speaking in "wallace' terms (sea level HP)414 cubic inch
3.875'' stroke
4.125'' bore
16.4:1 compression
704/694 lift bullet roller, 279/285 @ .050
1.6 jesel rockers
isky lifters
2.185/1.65 valves
msd crank trigger
mopar performance aluminum block
dry sump, peterson pump
chapman w8 heads, flow 354 @ 850 lift
CFE tunnel ram
2 toilets running M5 methanol
1-7/8''-2'' stepped headers i built
904, 6400 stall
4.86 gear, 9''
ladder bar
QA1 single adjustable shocks all 4 corners
14 x 32 MT's
2700lbs race ready
needs more camshaft to take advantage of the head flow. next year i will get a new one ground.
edit.... forget to mention the rods. they are Fowler aluminum and the pistons are JE
If I was to put it on the dyno, I think it would make 800 corrected hp (wallace sea level hp). I don’t say 800 hp just for the internet warriors lolThanks for sharing! I would love to have a match race with you and the AMX! Side by side all the way9secRR we're going to have a match race now. But I believe once you get finished tuning yours, I probably won't stand a chance. I put 50lbs on the nose of my AMX a few weeks ago. It's went a best of 5.79, 1.213 at 60ft and a best mph of 116.3. 2920lbs with the driver.
What does it say if you try the ET on Wallace?155 at 2400 shows 697 on Wallace
145 at 2700 shows 642 on Wallace

Makes much more sense. Thanks B3766

Much better !
MPH shows the HP when the entire package is dialed-in. Reviewing all the incrementals shows in this case and in most that things are not sorted and can give a hint as-to the true potential. (inspiring here!) I didn't see him post any incrementals! (please do) But I'd bet there's something to be gained in the carbs/scoop area. Many of the guys even in 'my' class aren't close to using their dyno-verified HP.766

OK makes more sense based on the parts and I understand now why. I wouldn't be bothered by internet warriors thinking, I was one too and am in some peoples eyes...all good! Had I known that it was 'observed in the typical conditions you race in" I'da guess faster. I always speak in corrected then give the DA if I'm running because that gives a better context. It isn't often any of us see 'corrected' conditions. My track will get pretty good occasionally. There was one race last year we were 4000DA during the day however. Keep after it, it'll be neat to see a big car with a little engine hit an "8". The site might have to create a NEW spot in the achieves "post your 8 second combos" lolIf I was to put it on the dyno, I think it would make 800 corrected hp (wallace sea level hp). This engine has gone 8.52 @ 155 in a 2400 lbs Daytona. My car is 2700 lbs, not as aerodynamic as the Daytona but it should run 8.80-90’s in my car.
my car has the same 60’ as the Daytona so that is very encouraging. Going in the right direction.
going back to the track Sept. 7. should see a 8 sec slip, car was a bit rich so i put in a different pill. with only 5 passes on this combo, i'm more then pleased to be so close to the 8'sOK makes more sense based on the parts and I understand now why. Hell ya man. You’ll get that 8 second time slip no doubt. Keep at it.going back to the track Sept. 7. should see a 8 sec slip, car was a bit rich so i put in a different pill. with only 5 passes on this combo, i'm more then pleased to be so close to the 8's
i'll give it another try this weekend. hopefully the DA is better then 4000'I feel like it will be a bit faster when you get it all dialed and tuned in. I ran a tunnel ram with two toilets on alky and single toilet on a 4bbl manifold with a -1 headed 430ci r3 at 3230lbs and went multiple 9.30 passes @144.10. Never dialed it in and went to a w8 mill. Keep at it
i'm gonna try to get that illusive 8 sec slip. i have the power to do it, just gotta find it.Hell ya man. You’ll get that 8 second time slip no doubt. Keep at it.
i've wanted to hit the 8's with a small block for a while. i finally have the chance and want to take advantage of it this year. if it doesn't happen this year, i'll put a real camshaft in it for next yearOK makes more sense based on the parts and I understand now why. Like a friend of mine always says, “the answer is between the bumpers” meaning, we all have more ET, just gotta find it lol ya 4000’ sucks. We been racing in that kinda weather the entire summer. So if you went 9.0 already in that crap, your definitely getting an 8 second pass with any kind of marginal air.i'll give it another try this weekend. hopefully the DA is better then 4000'
