Am planning replacing my 318 2 barrelfor a 360 4 barrel. Possibly as soon as this coming winter. Everyone I talk to says the linkages are different. But is it merely the brackets that need to be changed? I know 4 barrel motors have a bracket that is a different shape than mine because of the width of the carb. The throttle cable itself is just a flexible cable so this I can still use mine no? And my kickdown linkage bracket would just attach to the new location on the 4 barrel bracket. The rods on the kickdown and throttle are threaded so they can be adjusted. My thinking is that only the 4 barrel bracket is all I need. Is is that simple or am I missing something? If not what do I need to look for?

I went from a 2v BBD to a 4v TQ. I had to change the bracket on the rear and the rod from the carb to the throttle pressure linkage that drops down to the trans. The rod on the 2v was straight and the rod on the 4v has a slight bend toward the rear to allow it to come out a little to compensate for the width of the 4v. Everything else that was there worked.
