Well, after futzin around with the Duster, I have come to the end of the day. OK it was only 2 hours work time on it, but...... :angry4:
I have a Sears gizmo, tells RPM/dwell/volts/ohms. Hand held. While reading RPMs and trying to set up the engine, it falls from the pass. inner fender. Meeeeeeeelt on the headers. Minor damage. Just a wire.
Then the timing light goes goofy. OK, it's old. The plug in at the guns base is loose. Rrrrrr. Humph, Still in it. Swap out distribs. I thought the OE was a problem, poped in a lean burn for the moment, back to the missing MP I had On the Cuda. (Love when I find missing parts.) Try and set timing. Still a pain. Dancning all over.
(Mark the balancer yesterday. It slipped some, but I'm on it.)
I can't seem to get this thing to do what it's suposed to do. I give a lil'twist and it ethier hums hi or dies out.
I can not use a A/F guage this way. Which is also showing it's age. It likes to go blank on me once in a while.
I have determined the idle slots must be cloged up. I can't get that far down the rpm scale. Ethier by twisting the distrib or idle screw. A-ha! Gotcha....I think.
It's not that warm and this night worker is gettin weary. Feels like alot more than 2 hours out there sometimes. Maybe after awhile or tomorrow, I'll give the 750 AFB a try just for ha ha's.
I'll need some time to rebuild the AVS. Actually, I'd rather send it out.
It could take me awhile. But I'm on it.
