Well *that* was fun! (Note sarcasm)

I wiped out weeks ago and fell on my right side. Messed up a rib and slept in the recliner for a month. I am back to almost normal now. (well, as "normal" as I can be)
Yeah, I’ve used one of our recliners for a bed several times (knee surgeries, torn Achilles, etc) so I get it. Glad to hear you’re your normal “Abby Normal”, Mike!

Really dizzy this morning if I move too fast, or too much. Taking everything REALLY SLOW this morning.

Gotta admit to myself this is some scary **** at times.
Did the Doc rule out a concussion? You have to be super careful with a bump on the noggin like that.

No. They didn’t rule out anything yesterday. They told me I may have a mild concussion, and to “take it easy, monitor things for 24 hours, and let us know if it gets worse”. Personally I think this dizziness falls under “worse”, so we’re thinking of going to another, different, urgent care facility for another opinion (and possibly better care).

I agree with you on that one. You're playing with some serious stuff right there.

With a "mechanism of injury" like that, I would suspect you would have gotten a head and neck CT at the emergency department.

Take care of yourself.

I say move on South where it never snows! (OK so 1 inch every 5 years)
I have a bad muscle issue now in my old age. A muscle can give way, both knees fold up, and I always fall over backwards. And I take the full blow on the back, of my head. I have knocked myself out a couple of times. Big goose egg on back of my head. Never go to the doc, I figure God put it there, He will take it away!! Works for me.

This is “interesting”…..

I’m at a second urgent care center right now, and when I told them what happened they brought me right back. Didn’t need to wait in the lobby.

Now I’m just waiting for the Doc.

I learned at an early age not to “tough things out”. Call me a wimp, but when I was 13 I ruptured my spleen. I wanted to stay home and just sleep, but my folks said I didn’t look right, so they brought me in.

After the surgery the Doc told me if they hadn’t (brought me in), I wouldn’t have woken up.

And that’s scary to think about.

Concussion confirmed via CT. They also checked my neck, and thankfully there’s no whiplash.

They gave me a “concussion protocol” to follow, and suggested I go to their “concussion clinic”. I asked about recovery, and they said for some people it’s 2 days, and for others it’s 2 weeks.

Regardless, they told me to eliminate eye strain as much as possible, so no computers, no phones or devices, no TV, no reading, and no bright lights, until the dizziness goes away.

So I’m logging out for a day or three, and I’ll see y’all on the other side.

Glad they got you diagnosed properly Jim. Be well

Jim, be cool, and be slow. Nothing in a hurry.
I'm just glad it wasn't worse. My gf stepped in a mud puddle covered with some water (shallow) lost her balance, and busted a kneecap. Not as bad as a bad cranial injury, but painful just the same.

A few hours ago my wife asked me to take the dogs out. No problem, right? Normally, no.

However, part of the driveway still has a thick coating of ice on it, and it’s on a hill…..

And last night we got a dusting of light snow, making that ice particularly slippery….

Tried walking on it…..fell on the back of my head…..wife took me to urgent care….concussion. Doc says it’s “slight”, but they want us to monitor my symptoms for 24 hours and come back if things don’t get better.

So I have one heck of a headache, and half of a golf ball size lump on the back of my head.

<sarcasm> Fun! </sarcasm>
They didn’t do an MRI?
