Almost time to light em up! Only three more "empty" weekends before the new 2013 NHRA race season kicks off in Pomona, CA, with the 54th annual NHRA Winternationals! So its time to start thinking about your first 2013 NHRA Pick Em selections. Just like last year the changes during the off season make the beginning of the season interesting as new drivers and crewchiefs settle in with their teams.

Everything went well with last years Pick Em game so same rules as last year except for one new change: Let me know at any time if you want to make your picks permanent for the rest of the season. I'll lock your picks in for the balance of the season and you won't need to make weekly picks. Of course you'll be able to make a change if one or more of your drivers get injured and can't drive for either an event or the rest of the season.
If youre new to the game this year and not familiar to the rules, here they are:
Rules for the 3rd Annual FABO NHRA Pick 'Em for 2013.
Your picks must be posted to this thread no later than the scheduled start of Pro qualifying on the Friday of the event in order to be eligible for all bonus points awarded during the event. No exceptions. For the WinterNationals, this is Friday, February 15th.
Also like 2012, don't expect a last minute reminder PM to players that they need to get their picks posted like I did the first year - you're going to have to remember to get them posted on time.

Like the past two years, there will be special rules regarding round-win points for the 4-Wide Nationals at Z-Max Dragway in Charlotte, NC, April 19-21. I will post up the special rules prior to that event.
Also like 2011-12, the points will be re-set following the U.S. Nationals on Labor Day weekend, prior to the start of the 6-event "Countdown to the Championship".
So, time to start taking a look at your favorite drivers and how they're doing in pre-season testing. Spread the word and let's get more players than we had last year and make the 2013 version better than ever. I can't wait to get my 'nitro fix'!
