On time this week!
Here's your "Tuesday-before-the-event" reminder for the Fitzgerald USA NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals that starts Friday, June 15th.
The entry list currently shows:
16 Top Fuel
17 Funny Car
16 Pro Stock

Looks like this is going to be another warm-weather race. The current forecast calls for a high temps of 86F on Friday, then 90F on Saturday. Final eliminations on Sunday might be tough to get in with the current forecast of light rain lasting from 10AM to 6PM with thunderstorms hitting from 2-5PM.
Can we put a roof over the track?

Well, here's a first for this little ol' game, we've got 5 players tied for the Top Qualifier title for the 2018 Fitzgerald USA NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals...and they all have the same picks!
Congratulations to 'alsant' (FBBO), 'Back in Time' (FABO), 'Budnicks' (FBBO), 'cuda20' (FABO) and 'johnnycuda' (FABO). Each ended up with 21.5 bonus points by picking the #1 qualifier in both Funny Car and Pro Stock, and the #6 qualifier in Top Fuel.
'64BEL' (FBBO) grabbed the runner-up spot with 19.5 bonus points.

Way to go!!
Good luck all in eliminations tomorrow!

We have 14 players again this week but only 9 different driver combos made up of:
* 5 different Top Fuel drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. There is a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in Round 2 if both drivers win their opening round of eliminations.
* 5 different Funny Car drivers with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #6 qualifier John Force (1 pick) and #11 qualifier Ron Capps (4 picks). There is a possibility of one head-to-head matchups in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 4 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week with one Round 1 head-to-head matchups between #6 qualifier Jason Line (1 pick) and #11 qualifier Erica Enders-Stevens (1 pick). No possibility of a head-to-head matchup in Round 2 of eliminations.

Good luck all!

Here are the results and point standings following completion of the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, the eleventh event of the 2018 NHRA season.

Congratulations to both 'stroked340' (FABO) and 'super-bee_ski' (FBBO) for sharing the "Top Picker Eliminator" title with very nice point totals of 111.5 points each. Both picked the class winner in Funny Car, their Pro Stock pick lost in the final round of elimination, and their Top Fuel pick lost in the semi-final. They were both helped with ET bonus points in Pro Stock.
The "FABO/FBBO Five" all shared runner-up honors with 106.5 points each.

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Mother Nature may not be a drag racing fan this weekend and may make getting the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in this weekend a bit problematic.
The current weather forecast shows light rain currently in the Norwalk, Ohio, area with thunderstorms from 2-7PM EDT today. The Saturday forecast currently shows rain showers continuing overnight increasing to thunderstorms from 8AM-4PM EDT.
The Sunday forecast shows partly sunny skies up until 4PM EDT when rain showers are again forecast for about an hour.
Cross your fingers and let's hope they can get qualifying in during any break in the weather today and tomorrow.

Yep. I’m here getting rained on all weekend. Only ran one round of qualifying today and canceled all the Q2 rounds and the fireworks tonight. Sad face.
