Here's your 'Tuesday before the race' notice for the 5th annual American Rebel Light Virginia NHRA Nationals, June 20-22, at Virginia Motorsports Park in North Dinwiddie, VA.
Please check the driver entries and post your picks before Pro Stock and Nitro qualifying starts so you will be eligible for all event bonus points.

As of this morning nhra.com currently shows the following entries:
14 Top Fuel
16 Funny Car
17 Pro Stock Motorcycle

Pro Stock will not compete at this event.

I suggest you double-check to make sure your drivers are racing since there were some no-shows at recent race events of the season. If your posted driver skips the event and you do not select a replacement prior to the start of eliminations, I will use your posted driver from the most recent completed event. Unfortunately, any replacement driver after the start of qualifying will not be eligible for any event bonus points.
Also, several drivers will be making their 2025 NHRA season debut at the Virginia Nationals:
1 Top Fuel entry is making their season debut at this event
1 Pro Stock Motorcycle entry is making their season debut at this event

The current weekend weather forecast shows:
* Friday currently shows mostly sunny with a high of 87F and chance of some rain starting at 6:00pm on Friday for about an hour
* Saturday forecast is for mostly sunny with a high of 91F
* Sunday weather for Eliminations should be sunny a forecast high of 94F

The current television schedule for the Virginia Nationals...
* Qualifying Show 1: 2:00-4:00pm EDT (11:00am-1:00pm PDT), Sunday, June 22 on FS1
* Eliminations: 4:00-6:00pm EDT (1:00pm-3:00pm PDT), Sunday, June 23 on FOX
All television coverage will also re-air at later times. Check www.nhra.com.

Reminder...the American Rebel Light Virginia NHRA Nationals is a 2-day event for the Pro classes featured in our NHRA "Pick 'Em" game.
There will not be any Pro qualifying on Friday.
Three rounds of Pro qualifying are scheduled for Saturday, June 21, at 11:30am, 2:00pm and 4:30pm EDT (8:30am, 11:00am and 1:30pm PDT).
 
'Locked' picks clarification...

Post #1 spells out the game rules on how to "lock" picks for the entire season and how to change your "locked" picks during the season. If you specifically post you are changing your "locked" picks then your posted changes will remain "locked" for the remainder of the season, unless you later post to change them again.
Unfortunately, I neglected to fully clarify what happens if you post driver changes and DO NOT specify you are changing your "locked" picks.
  • If you post different drivers and do not specify you are changing your "locked" picks, then your change will be in effect for only that single race event
  • Your previously "locked" picks will then revert back and be in effect for the remainder of the race season
  • It does not matter if you post a driver change for a class that may not be competing at that event

Congratulations to both 'johnnycuda' (FABO) and 'memike' (FABO) for sharing the 2025 Virginia NHRA Nationals Top Qualifier title with an outstanding total of 23.5 bonus points each. They each correctly picked the #1 qualifiers in both Top Fuel and Funny Car, and the #2 qualifier in Pro Stock Motorcycle.
'cuda20' (FABO) was right behind with 22.0 bonus points.
'Nick2317' was the highest-scoring FBBO qualifier with 21.0 points

We have 15 players again this week and 13 different driver combos made up of:
* 6 different Top Fuel drivers with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #1 qualifier Brittany Force (4 picks) and #14 qualifier Tony Stewart (7 picks). There is also a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in Round 2 if both drivers survive.
* 5 different Funny Car drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. There is a possibility of two head-to head matchups in Round 2 if all drivers survive.
* 3 different Pro Stock Motorcycle drivers. The earliest possibility of a head-to-head matchup is the Semi-Final Round of eliminations if both riders survive until then.

Congratulations to '64BEL' (FBBO) for winning the "Top Picker Eliminator" title for the 2025 American Rebel Light Virginia NHRA Nationals with an outstanding total of 123.0 points. He picked the class winner in Funny Car and both his Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle picks lost in the final round of eliminations.

nhra.com article says the Virginia Top Fuel final results are under review for a possible rules infraction on Langdon's car...

Prock, Herrera bring the heat with key wins at American Rebel Light Virginia Nats

UPDATE:
NHRA ruled Justin Ashley the Top Fuel winner of the Virginia Nationals. Shawn Langdon's final elimination run was disqualified because of a rulebook violation related to missing bolts on the bellhousing inspection cover. Per the NHRA Rulebook and related SFI Spec 6.2, the cover is required to be secured by no less than 12 bolts. During a post-run inspection, the cover on Langdon’s dragster did not meet the requirement of 12 secured bolts.

The points shown in post #188 have been corrected.
