$670 for a Bell Housing ??????? WTF

$670 included multiple parts plus shipping, but just the accepting of my PP goods and services and then wanting to send it back to me once it already cleared his and my account and for me to resend it to them as PP F&F for their protection, not mine, is what I found unacceptable. They expected “community trust” for them but didn’t trust me that I wasn’t going open a fake PP return claim and send them back a totally different product or “something that weighed the same as the original box” just to get my money back…. Oh well

Yea, I’m not following this too close. Sounds like the old guys got paid, but are unfamiliar with how paypal works in a new account. I use f&f very seldom. And never on the first transaction. I always add the $.49 + 2.9% Now I understand that the ratings hold their weight, but this guy just seems like he did everything you guys wanted, but Todd or OMM wasn’t aware of the hold. Is it classy to pull the sale because they didn’t know what was going on? Not really. Should OMM ratings be trusted as a good seller? Yes 100% OMM, you have to give this dude a little break about trying to cover his own ***. You are both looking at it from the vantage point that the other individual is trying to bone you. From the outside looking in, I see a confused guy who doesn’t have his trans parts and another who can’t understand why the former won’t just send the money a different way. I bought a barracuda once from NY to PA. I called the guy and western unioned him the cash. He went to pick it up, nope. “Lot’s of fraud between NY and PA” So…. You took my money, but won’t let the other party receive ? Eventually we had the banks talk on the phone and did a bank to bank transfer. If you werent going to release the money, why did you take it?

Before this comment you should have looked what he was getting. Much more then just the bell housing. WTF

Here is what happened. Todd gave him a price of $500 for The bell, with fork and covers. Resurfaced flywheel and all fasteners, new in box clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing. Plus ride.

I was the one that guaranteed the items and the sale. Payment was to be friends and family. The shipping was around $180.

I boxed it up and was going to ship it and saw payment came through as merchandise with a 21 day hold. I Told todd to refund him his payment and offer it for the same price F&F.

I sold and gave away a lot of parts on this site. I once sent a sharks tooth grille to someone and took payment as merchandise. As soon as they received it they file item not as described. They got a refund from Paypal as soon as they provided a tracking number. When I received the package back they sent a broken Dodge Aspen grill back They added a bag of sand to make the same weight and I had no recourse. I got screwed.. Screw me once shame on you! Screw me twice shame on me!

So seeing the buyer of this bell and clutch assembly had a reaction score of 23 I warned Todd of what could happen and to refund him.

Correction.. Payments only go into the 21 day hold window through paypal when the sender does not have a debit/credit card linked to their account. No matter whether purchased as goods and services or friends and family option.

I see your concern for no protection for the buyer with F&F. But where is the protection for the seller using merchandise. You have a score of 23 verses a score of 16,704.

You were also told I have the trans, shifter& linkage, hump, boot, and driveshaft. also the clutch peddles and all clutch linkage.

You were refunded your payment so you are out nothing.

But I boxed it with bagged spray foam for protection. Plus provided the HD Box and heavy duty tape . So you would receive it in good condition. Plus the fuel to get you the actual shipping quote, plus the time and packaging material. That can all be thrown in the trash can.

I still sell to many members that I send them the merchandise before I receive payment. Or send the parts and tell them to pay what they think its worth when they receive it.

Some members I give parts for just the shipping if they are long time gold members. Sorry but no one could confirm you were trust worthy to me. Your to new.

After this fiasco you can keep looking you won't get them from us. Also I found out who my friends are by comments they make when they are not involved. WTF?

PayPal reports it as income
Just remember when you receive money from PayPal for goods and services, you have to claim that as income and you get taxed something like 21.3%. Now you have to itemize and see what you have into it and what’s your profit and get taxed on that. What a pain in the ***. Friends and family only. If you don’t trust them, don’t waste his time.

When the transaction happened, I sent the money through as goods and services and Todd never mentioned one thing about friends and family. The money cleared my account and it cleared his account and once he already had everything ready to ship out, him an old man Mopar contacted me that they wanted to send me a refund and for me to resend it through as F&F.

That is poor business practice, and I would rather buy my parts elsewhere. They’re talking about trust but that same request for trust, they didn’t extend to me

The only time you get taxed that high through PayPal is when you meet a certain threshold. I sell things all the time on eBay and marketplace and never get taxed. The only thing that I get hit with is the PayPal fee when I receive payment as goods and services

I was a faithful customer who paid immediately and they should’ve clarified from the beginning friends and family only and if I knew that I would’ve looked elsewhere. It is what it is.
