My stock 273 is worn out and I want to replace it with a 318 long block from one of those engine rebuild outfits. Is this swap a bolt in with no mods and who is a good source for the 318?

Burntorange, I have been told that some later 318's are a bit different where they bolt to the trans. Any idea if this is true?

I heard that ATK Vege and Evergreen are both pretty good and less expensive than Jasper.

65 cuda 273's have a different intake - smaller bolts and holes.
also the converter register might be a different size - IIRC

What Dave said. torque convertor wont fit the crank hub on 65s. I'd also find a better option than a mass rebuilder. They usually are just good enough to get out of warranty. Cheap parts, poor labor.. they get Fugly...

Thanks guys you saved me a bunch of $$ I"l just rebuild the 273 even though it's pricer.

You,ve made a wise choice 65 CudDuh!Your 273 belongs!It can be a stout little small block!Nice fastback.
