Hello everybody,

I have a 68 Dart 273 engine with 46,000 original miles on it. In just the past few weeks it has been bogging down when stepping on the accelerator, and then it will stall. It then is very hard to start and when it does it idles very rough. I can not seem to figure out what is wrong with it, I have done many things to try to solve the problem with no avail. Here is what I have done so far.

1- New fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel filter, rebuilt carburetor.
2- New spark plugs, spark plug wires, new coil.
3- All new hoses.
4- Timed to 2.5 after, ( has electronic ignition )

Any help would be greatly appriatiated.

There's you're problem. Try 8 before

Manual calls for 2.5 after, what am I missing here??

Thanks

Some guides say 0 + or - 2 also . Todays fuel seems to run best at 6 to 8 before for me.

Try it ao 10 deg. before TDC and if it pings back it off a couple degrees.

I agree, Mine liked 10 - 12 degrees at idle, vacuum line disconnected and pluged. Stock distributer w/ Pertronics kit replacing the points.

Did you try to see if the advance mechanism in the distributor moves freely? If its stuck or sticky this will make your motor run poor..
