The city that rhymes with fun.
Doing a complete makeover on the car and am thinking about switching to these. Has anyone tried the 295 65 15s from mickey on there duster? Go no go or fit with minor modifications?

I have that exact tire on my 71 demon. It has been mini/tubbed, with coil overs. Also I had to have the lower rear fenders radiused just a little bit.

its easy! what ever is in the way u just get the torch and make room! haha jk jk jk jk! either that or moving the springs in with a mini tub.

i think those are going to want to run on the front of the wheel opening, some guys move the axle back a bit, but you might still need to trim the front of the opening.

Thanks for the replies! the car currently has 30 inch radial slicks so i think the height is ok. But the section width seems to vary depending on which website one looks at.

I send you a PM.

I have a '75 Duster, and it seems that I have enough room for the 295. Per MT website, the section width is 12" but it is measured on a 9.5" rim, so if the theory holds true for the 1/2" change in measuring rim equals 2/10 section change, then the 295 should measure 12.2" on a 10" rim. When I measured my current distance from the spring to the outside edge of my 28x10.5's, I had 12 5/8". My 28x10.50 measure right at 11.7" in section width, so with an additional 1/2" of section width that puts the tire right on the spring. I have a spring offset kit that should move everything 1/2 to 3/4" so I should be able to accomodate the additional width of the 295 but no more.

My PM concerns the 30" height of the 295/65. My offset spring kit also moves the axle back 1", and I wanted to make sure that I could fit the 30" height into the fenderwell.

My buddy has them on his 71 demon that had the spring relocation kit on a 10" wheel. They fit without rubbing..How wide is a 295x65x15. I have 28x12.50x15 on a 10" wheel on my duster and have plenty of room..

EDIT... A 295x65x15 is 30.1x11.61x15 I run a tire thats 28.02x12.52x15 I have plenty of room and the tire I run is almost 1 inch wider..I'am gonna run a 315x60x15 E/T Drag radial when theses E/T streets are bald. The 315s are 29.88x12.40x15..

1 Bad Duster

Is your friends or your car mini-tubbed? On MT's website your 28x12.50 are 12.6' wide measured on a 10" wheel, a 295/65 is 11.9 on an 8.5" wheel, which means on a 10" wheel it would be 12.5" wide.

Is my car deformed? I have a '74 Duster, and with MT 275/60-15's, which are a shade under 28" tall, only have about 7/16" to the front corner of the fender lip.

both cars have the spring relocation kit and super stock springs.. thats it. Here is a pic of mine. The pics the front fender lip looks closer then in person.. I will get a true measurement tomorrow.

I went and measured it one side measures 1 1/8- 1 1/4 and the other side measures 1-1 1/8th But the air pressure might not be the same..

How much room do you have between your tire and the back of the fenderwell, basically how much wider a tire could you fit in there? If you have any pictures from the rear that would be great also. Good looking ride, I actually like the primer look.
