I Have complete 318 2bbl kickdown linkage set up but now have a 4bbl carb. Do I have to change out the entire assembly or can I just change out some of the components...if so which ones? Really don't feel like spending $175 for an entire assembly, especially if it aint required.

thx
Steve

If you have a 3pc, the only real difference is in the top rod to the carb. The throttle bracket itself IS different tho. What I do is to splice in length to the throttle bracket and the top rod. That allows things to work properly.

Or you can go lokar set up

Bracket and return spring -25$ Summitracing
My used lokar kickdown linkage I don't need -40 shipped or new 65 + shipping from Summitracing

Most of the linkage is different between 2bbl and 4bbl. Can you modify yours to work? Sure, as long as you know how to cut and weld. Without a proper sample to go by, it's a lot of trial and error though. I don't know anyone that would want to sell just part of the 4bbl linkage....what good would the rest of it be? The cable setups seem to be the most painless way to do it.
