Kind of a late start, so I'll have to do some back tracking to get back to this point.
Here is the 67 Barracuda I have now in progress. fred-scigliano convinced me to make the thread !

Now Back to the beginning.
About 3 years ago I thought I needed a project so I found a 67 Fastback on craigslist.
Bought it , drug it home. Let the Games Begin !

Paid $3500 for it. Pretty complete , /6 auto on the floor. Pretty rough. After getting into it and cutting out all the rust, wasn't much left.

Looks better in the pic .every body part was rusted out. Decided to just part it out and cut the loss. Actually got almost all my money back. A local guy here bought some interior pieces for the 2 cuda project he was going to tackle. Picked up that A 100 ( in the garage )
meanwhile for my project. At least it was driveable. So after a year or so the guy with the 2 cudas started asking if I wanted to buy them. $3500 for both plus the extra parts . Went to look at what he had , was thinking Hell No, Been there all ready. Then he started dropping his price to where I couldn't say no.

This is ( was ) a 68, 318, 4 spd, 8 3/4, with a rally dash. Bucket seats and console. Parts Car.
By the way the last owner of this car was Jesus !

Here's the 67 . Someone had done alot of body work. It was a 318 auto with 7 1/4 rear end. Floor console, A/C car.

The extra parts consisted of 2 318s , one was supposed to be a running engine and the other sat and was locked up a bit. Both had aluminum intakes and cams. One 4 spd set up and one A727. Had an extra K frame with disc and sway bar set up and an extra set of rear leaf springs. Which both turned out to be 67 big block parts . CHA CHING. And the small mother load of parts.

Moving forward, I saved the 4spd and 8 3/4 , Dash and interior parts from the 68 to use in the 67, along with what ever else was of use to someone . Started listing parts for sale to fund the 67 project.I have sold enough parts to recover the purchase price of the two cars, have enough parts to keep the out of pocket expense low ( I hope ). So that's how it came about . Thanks to all the guys on FABO for buying my parts to help fund my project.
So this is the 67 I started with.

No sir! Thank YOU for the great deals you've given! You're one of the good guys that sells at more than reasonable prices and I for one appreciate it! Super cool story how you got this far along.

I think the first thing after months of cleaning and sorting parts to keep or sell off to get some space back was to install the 8 3/4 in the 67 with all new bushings and a fresh coat of paint.

that auto notch sure looks sweet! Is that just primer hiding body work?
Glad to follow the thread.
The body work was already done when I got it. After looking it over ( after I bought it ) it turned out to be pretty rust free considering the other two . My first intention was to just part them out for something to do. My wife convinced me I needed a project, as I'm retired and must have been getting on her nerves. LOL But changed my mind to rebuild it. Only rust that was left in it was the floor pan, which had to be replaced with AMD metal 1 piece floor.

I actually like the notch back Cuda better than the fastback. looking forward to this build.
I liked the FastBack better. But this one is growing on me. My son and I built him a Fastback 20 years ago for his first car in High School. Still has it.

Did the 68 you chopped up have the 14x5.5" steelies used on the formula S and big block cars or did it have the regular pizza cutters?

Right on Al glad you started this trend so keep the pictures coming and how you did everything.
One day would like to meet up in a car show or just meet up and have a beer and lunch and check out your car.

Yes the 68 had 5.5 wide A member on here , who live here in FL came across the state and bought a bunch of the big stuff that would have been hard to ship. He bought the BB K frame and leaf springs the wheels and a steering column and I thru in the 7 1/4 rear free. Which is why he came over in the first place. So that worked out real nice for both of us.

That's cool. I have 2 14x5.5 SBP rims on the back of sonny's car now to roll it around. Once I get the 8.8 mocked up under it and the 15s on it, I will be scrapping the 7.25, and will prob sandblast and primer those 14s and put em up for sale.

Here's a few pics of the new PST front suspension parts I installed after getting all the old under coat and crud off. Saw here where
another member used oven cleaner to get it off , so after about 10 cans of that crap I got got it nice and clean and sprayed on some bedliner coating , That turned out pretty nice. Used it on the whole under side of the car. One gallon did the whole job and still have a little left. I would recommend that stuff. I think it was Dupont. Got it at the Zone for about $75 a gallon.

Budget check !
$75 for bedliner
$25 for oven cleaner
$260 ish for PST
Total $360
