HI.
I am process of removing ac unit from my car, duster 72 318 whit power steering.
Not really sure how I have to run belts.
Can I just run two belts, one crank, water and PS, that would be like orginal. Second belt would go from crank to alt, it would fit, but is belt turning angle on alt too much, will it trow belt? Alingments are good.
And is enyone done this, can it work reliably?
I can post picks later

Sorry for bad english

to do it right you need all new pulleys and a different alt. bracket.

belt routing will go

rear groove has wp,alt,crank.
front groove has crank and ps.

below is the stuff you need.. i'm not saying you need to buy them. you should be able to find them used somewhere. but at least use the pictures for a reference..

alt bracket you need...

Thanks for the info. Will have to look for used set of pulleys from non ac 318

Just a FYI incase you didn't know... The long bolt will spill your water when removed. Drain the water level down below that height and put some sort of sealant or anti-seize on the threads.

peelo57,

I've removed all the underhood components from my '71 Dart GT (and boxed it up for future).
If you do a search on my user name you can find the details of what I did.
You can also visit my cardomain (link in my signature) area and see some of the details there as well.
Hope it helps!

in case you have the cast iron water pump you need this w/p pulley. those above are all with the thicker aluminum water pump. not to confuse you
