i pulled the motor+tranny out of my bcuda yesterday. Its got a 67 318 with 68-74 heads..and a 904 trans. what is this worth?, and how i can i tell if its been rebuilt

I bought a good running 318/904 combo out of a 76 Valiant in late summer for 200 bucks Canadian and the seller threw in the driveshaft and delivered it 20+ miles to my house.

You may get lucky on craigslist.. my friend just got $200 for a slant six yesterday? so who knows..

hmmm I wouldn,t say boat anchor.............. I just so happen to own a 318 that would keep up to some 340,s . the best thing is you can always build it up

'68-'74 heads is a good indicator that it's been apart at least once. Pull the oil pan and check the parting line on the crank. If it is sharp, narrow, and well defined, it is a cast crank and those didn't show up in 318s until 1973.

thanks for the help..anyone have recomendations for a build..im on a pretty tight budget. trans looks to be rebuilt

I just bought a 95 318 magnum for 69.99 and the whole truck came with it.
