72' casting. It's plus .04" now. Will likely need +.01 more for clean-up. May "sonic" and use block filler. I know the "Big Inch SBM." book says +.04" is it. Thoughts ? Thanks, ateam.:read2:

The book is correct, .040 is generally as far as you can go safely with a 2-bolt main 340. Get it sonic ck'd, you may luck out and be able to take it to .060 but that would be rare. You could also go with a half fill, but if it's a street car I wouldn't unless your in an area where you can get E85, then I would say go for it....JM.O2 8)

i got a .060 over 340 that i raced for ever...sonic test it before you spend money on it.
 
Thanks everyone. I figure $80 for a 12 point (per bore), sonic is a good roll of the dice. I'm scopin an "R3" to handle hemi heads. ateam.
