340 head questions

-

Just tell the Chevy boys you have the special 'Oz' heads and that's why your car out performs their junk. See how fast and how many of them jump on their phones to research 'Oz' heads.
No one researched my "Oz" heads, they just scratched their heads, wondering how a Large Dodge Maxi Van could beat them. I once beat a couple guys in a Chevy truck that wanted to play with me, while I was pulling a Coleman pop-up camper. They never got an inch on me and after going over 100 mph I was able to pull my train in front of them. I slowed for them to catch up, but they stayed back, not wanting another embarrassing run.

me and my brother had a 68 gmc camper special 350 4bl all stock 4spd granny
he was saying that his coworker had a 72 ss nova 350 4spd ,dragged the guy 3 times he couldn't get over how he kept getting beat ....sometime they just run

I imagine the late 340 late flat pistons was the compression killer? and the 360 with the dish pistons naturally yes Id think.
Yes , the '72 and '73 340 pistons were .100 lower in the bore then the earlier engines which lowered compression to 8.5 , the heads were the same as earlier years , except for the intake valves 1.880 compared to 2.020 valves .
