Hi, new here.

I have a 69 dart swinger. Factory 340, the engine is new so I need to re-torque heads. Can someone direct me to instructions on how to do this? It has 318 exhaust manifolds on it. Do I need to take them off? I hope not.

Thanks!

In my 30+ yrs of working on mopar 340s ..never have retorqued a head gasket.....

look at the 318 exhaust ports..and look at the 340 exhaust ports....one word...restriction...

Ok, thanks. The reason I did was there was a little trail of coolent coming from the left head.

I have a pair of 340 exhaust manifolds with tti down pipes. Could not get them to fit!! This was on the easy side (passenger). The pipe would hit the bell housing or the oil filter, very disappointing.

If steel shim head gaskets were used, that is the only case where a retorque would be necessary.
