Please dont laugh as im new to Mopars ,but i have a dumb question.I am in the process of upgrading the cam and heads on my 360 stroker.Yesterday i installed the new cam ,chain ,and front cover.Today i was thinking about what i did yesterday and started wandering about the oil hole drilled bolt on the retainer plate.I didnt know that it mattered where it was installed .I remember installing it on the driver side bottom hole. Will it matter ? Will the chain still get enough oil ? Will suck to have to pull it back apart to move it ,but i will if i have to.I havent put the balancer back on yet ,so it could be worse. Thanks ...

This bolt goes in the top passenger side. It gets oil run off from the lifter valley. I usally also install a dripper that goes on with the bottom bolt and dirrects the oil to the inside center of the chain. You must put that bolt where I stated. Sorry for the bad news but you will run that chain dry otherwise. Steve

Went to the parts house ,removed the pump and cover and switched the bolt in 1 hr.Now its in the top passenger side. While we are on the subject, the gasket kit came with a big felt type washer.Does the piece go between the oil slinger and balancer .It was not in there when i disassembled this thing ...

Not all motors had drilled bolts, not all cars had 4 bolts either. Some only had 3 and that drip rail thing...top left as looking at the motor, drill small home if you must.

Thanks guys .I moved the bolt to the top pass side and got the cover and pump all back on with new gaskets.I guess i got faster this time around ,lol ...

The felt washer was only used on the old style harmonic balancers that had a reciever ring to slip it into. If your balancer doesn't have a reciever ring on the back side that it'll slip into it's a newer style balancer that doesn't use it. I'm not positive but I think it was mainly there to keep dust off the seal.

Yup, it helps keep dirt from getting on/in the crank snout seal.
