Well, zing.

This is the very first start of my rebuilt 360 pulled from a 1974 Dodge D100. It has a 0.030 over bore, 340 cop heads, 1.88" embiggened valves, Weiand Stealth intake, hydraulic lifters and cam (260/260 Comp cam), Edelbrock performer carb, MP electronic ignition kit, and Denso alternator. Only the passenger side exhaust is hooked up because the larger oil pan interferes with the driver's side exhaust hookup. I'll need to get the pipe extended a bit. The radiator is original but modified into a 3-core unit and relocated ports to accommodate the later style aluminum water pump. The exhaust manifolds are original from the 273 except that I had them Jet-Hot coated.

I repainted the engine a Porsche orange. I had a ton of POR15 orange engine paint laying around and it falls somewhere between Chevy orange and earlier Mopar orange. I didn't really dig the hemi orange color very much and I wasn't certain which orange to paint it, but this orange is beautiful. All the accessories, brackets, and what-not are powder coated satin black. Every last fastener, nut, bolt, and washer has been replaced with stainless or grade-8 fasteners. The bay is painted with Valspar tractor paint in satin black. Eventually I want to paint the car some other color, so I chose neutral black because it would go with anything.

The bay looks dusty because I've done all the work under a tarp so much of the yard has blown itself into the bay. I can't wait to clean it up. Only the hydraulic clutch pedal setup and brakes remain to be done.

Fun.

(My friend who took the video mistakenly commented on YouTube that its a 350 bored to 360. This is incorrect. I promise its not a GM motor. I'm the one flipping the devil horns).

Hi marcus. Looks like you've got a great start there. A bit of advice though. Not tryin to rain on your parade.....but before you run it anymore, i would get the exhaust hooked up. that way you can hear everything that's going on in that new engine. the last thing you want is to be having a malfunction and not even be able to hear it until it's too late.

Agreed. I don't think you're parade-raining at all. I just spent a ton of research, time, and money on this thing. If something is hideously wrong I need to know about it now.

You should definetly adjust your timing for easier starting. Also that engine looks awfully familiar in the early-A.LOL A pic of mine..

The timing is a bit advanced. Thats why it cranks the way it does.

Congrads!

Congrats always the fun day....now if I could only find the dancing banana....!!!!!!!!!!
