I need that in my Duster.....if you don't mind me asking how much have you got into the build?

MRL, thanks for the kind words. Your 470 looks pretty mean.

My goal was to make the 600 hp range. I'll have the numbers in a few weeks when we dyno it.

I've been trying not to add it up. But an honest answer is about $13,500 including the carb, dist, and headers.

There's no getting around the cost of quality machining and assembly, high flow aluminum heads (and required offset rockers for $1,000) and all of the quality parts needed for a durable, high horsepower motor. I thought about building it myself at first but soon realized that to use a shop that builds racing motors every day was money well spent.

When I get some time I'll post pics of the '74 big block K-member that I welded, re-enforced, skid plated and powder coated. I did all of the work on it and think it will look pretty good with this motor.

where is mopar engines west located? didnt they used to be in morgan hill?

It use to be in Morgan Hill but for the last few years Mopar Engines West has been part of Dave's Engine Machining in Newark, Ca.

I met those guys fro MEW at one of the Mopar Muscle Engine Challenges I was in, super nice guys/gal. Angie is hell of a head porter!
