I am getting a 66 cuda with parts car and want to put a383 and 727 trans in it?
what ar the closest mounts (factory) to use?

Will C body HP exhaust manifold fit in there as well?

Any help would be great!!

it will not be easy to do this swap. the 66 and down A bodies were narrower than the 67 and up. big blocks can be fitted but usually fenderwell hedders are used. Also, I am not sure if the tranny hump in the body is big enough for the 727, might need some enlargement. If anything, the 383 would be a better choice than the 440 cause it is a bit narrower but still, it is a tight fit. Used to know of a 440 cuda race car down in FL.
[bearacuda it was called] Friend owned it, it was a pain in the *** to work on. he used fenderwell headers. I am not fond of the idea of using the fenderwells cause the fender wells in the mopars are actually responsible for alot of structural support and when you cut them up, some of that support is lost. I anybody out there in A-body land knows of an easy way to do this swap, I would like to hear it!!

If you go 4 speed, I think it's a bolt in swap. But the big block 727 requires some trans tunnel modification. The engine swap itself though, is fairly straight forward.

yep I have a 440 with std manifolds in my 65 valiant so it should fit,
I made my own mounts.
There is an old thred on bigblockdart.com about 383-400's with HP manifolds in early A's.
I just googled it when I was trying to find info.
