I may still want yours... After these guys look mine over I'll know if I need it.
I bought this car non running, and shifter not hooked up. I was just going to circumvent the inevitable based on my luck, and buy one that is good...
I've been out of this game a long time..almost 30 years since I drove my Demon.. Stuff I did to my car as a teen, without manuals and internet, seems difficult for me now.. Use to fix anything I needed to... Not sure what the hell happened...lol

I understand. I don't know who these guys are helping you and have no idea of their skill so I'll tell you how "I" would do it and you can relay the info. Because my way is the best way.

Once they make a plate that matches the triangle plate on the shifter, of course they'll heve to drill the three matching holes on each corner, like the shifter, so it can bolt on the top plate.

Next, they should cut a hole in the center of the plate that the bottom of the shifter will fit into. Finally position the shifter like you want it and weld it solid on the bottom side of the plate, around the end of the shifter and then weld it solid all the way around the top side of the plate as well. It will be there until the rapture comes.

I REALLY appreciate that info and I will definitely pass this along..!! Let me ask your advice on what shifter... 71 non console b body is what I believe I've heard works best for the bucket a bodies..?
There's a part of me that hates doing the shifter change because when I first bought the car I wanted to keep it original as possible. It's all original panels, no repaints, no filler etc..Really nice patina car... However, I've already changed it from bench seat car to correct 72 bucket interior.. Replacing the steering wheel with Tuff Wheel.. It had slots on it when I bought it and replaced with the correct Rallyes.. Body and paint to start soon and I'll have it repainted keeping the Hemi Orange w/ side and tail stripes... Although, I almost want to just drive it the way it is for a while, unrestored ..

I don't really know enough about the pistol grip shifters to advise you. I know there are several different ones and that's about it.
