I'm considering just rebuilding my rear drum brakes but amd wondering if I upgrade to Moser axles with a 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern will I be able to eventually upgrade to a Willwod brake setup and if yes did mopar have a car with drum brakes on a 4 1/2" bolt pattern on any car? I believe the drums are 9"

I do not believe the a-body ever had a 4 1/2 pattern front drum but they did have a 10" 4 1/2 rear drum setup starting in 1973 with the 8 1/4 rear end. These cars had disc brakes. You can use the wilwood disc brakes with the moser axles set up with the 4 1/2 pattern.

If you are talking rear Wilwood disc's for the rear, Wilwood as far as I know dosn't make a disc kit for the 8 1/4. They do make it for 8 3/4 & Dana. I'm not saying it can't be done, you may have to get rear disc's from a Dakota & then upgrade to a Wilwood brakes.
You also have to be carful a lot of there kits don't have E brakes with them. This caused a friend lots of trouble in the past as he couldn't get a passing grade on an insurance inspection for a 69 Dart.

8 1/4's and 9 1/4's use the same backing plates as the 8 3/4 and dana so the kit will work on those rears also.

No their for an 8 3/4" that i have i was just hoping I could rebuild the rear drums because it'll cost like 200 bucks instead of like 800 but if it's not possible I'll just go with the discs that I wanted in the first place. I think I'm just gonna buy a FMJ spindle and hub and put those brakes on with an RMS adjustible upper control arm and have 4 wheel discs that way

When I change to the 4.5 bolt pattern on my 71 dart I put SSBC disc brakes on the front, and look everywhere I could for rear drums.

I even mismatch drums from fords and chevys. A ford econoline van was the closest, but still didn't work. I even got my hands on a drum manufactors book that list specs for every drum made for every make and model, and could find anything in there to fit.

So I ended up drilling a 4.5 bolt pattern into the stock drums until I could afford a rear brake kit, Now I'm running a SSBC kit on the rear also.

Also I believe my brake rear drums were larger than 9". I want to say they were 10"

I went out and measured my 8 3/4 and its got 11" drums with a 4 1/2" x 5 pattern.
