4 bolt 340 block

yes and it depends which one , there's the x block and r3 blocks and maybe more could be had with 4 bolt mains , but no passenger car 340 were 4 bolt , the x and r3 are race blocks .

I'm pretty sure the T/A blocks just had extra webbing added so that aftermarket 4 bolt caps could be added.
But your right, Rob, Alaskan TA is really the guy that would know.

No the T/A's did not have 4 bolt mains but they did have thick webs for 4 bolt mains if you wanted to install them.

All stock blocks are 2 bolt mains. Except.....

The ‘70 T/A - AAR 340 6 pack engines had the thick/filled in areas that could be drilled and tapped for a 4 bolt application.

Not all of MP race blocks came with 4 bolt main caps.
All of the race blocks could be tapped for 4 bolt main caps.
