408 oil pan

Steff's
6 qt that stays above the AlterKtion.
Very nice screen windage tray and baffles.
Not as cheap as many , but a real nice piece.

ALTERKATION..... That would be cheating! I run a Kevco aluminum pan on mine. Two kick outs, baffles and the sump sits above the tube K setup I'm running. Steering rack and loss of t-bars opens up worlds of room! :)

That is a NICE pan! I had no idea Stefs had an off the shelf pan for the SBM. Is it like the one pictured? I am guessing you are running it in your dart? What is ground clearance like?

The AlterKtion and bottom of the radiator are lower than the pan.
I don't have a great pic , but this will give you an idea.

I had to ditch the stock K because I needed room for 1 7/8" under chassis headers and I had to build them. It still got snug too. :D

I use stock ones for street cars. Stock pans, with modified factory windage trays. No need for anything fancy.

nice looking exhaust. what brand is the system?

Headers are SPD flanges , Stahl 1 7/8 kit for tubes and collectors , 40 hours of head scratching and welding and a local guy coated them. http://www.racecoatings.com/
( The curse of W-9's , you are paying or making your own headers in most chassis cars)
Heart throb exhaust X pipe kit in 3" into Hooker Max Flow cans and ended just before the axle with turn downs clocked at roughly 5 and 7 o'clock facing each other to cancel out frequencies and make it a tad quieter.
Heart Throb is semi local to me ( Litchfield , Mn. ) but they do have a web site.......they manufacture for a lot of name brands plus their own stuff and are a good source for exhaust parts. http://heartthrobexhaust.com/

It really is quiet ............ until it is time to not be quiet.:D

I went with Kevco ... Very nice pan for the money

I agree. Just cause this motor has 48 or so more cubic inches, doesn't mean it needs a more oil capacity.

I think the real benefit is oil control , not capacity.

true. But I seems people feel they need a pan upgrade just for the fact they have a stroker motor. Like if it was a 340 with the same HP, it wouldn't need an pan upgrade. It's a street car/motor that's not going to pull the front tires up or anything.

I see posts like, "what oiling mods do I need for a stroker?".

Even if it doesn't come anywhere close to pulling the front wheels off the ground doesn't mean it doesn't need help with oil control, especially if it's a center sump pan. My first 360 I had in my Cuda was not very fast (1.88 60') yet with the stock oil pan it starved the bearings on a hard launch. It was very visible just by watching the oil pressure drop quite a bit on launch then recover after the car was moving. IMO an oil pan with oil control baffles (whether it be a stock pan with baffles added or aftermarket) is a no brainer for ANY performance application and a stroker that generally takes off harder would be more subject to the oil running to the back of the pan away from the pickup on a hard launch and need help all the more

I agree ... My pan is a stock looking pan. But it is a Kevco pan with all the
Bell & whistles .
