Can you put the cross bolted mains on a standard 440 block?

If you had enough money, you could do anything, but a good girdle probably would be the best way to go.

Gonna do a girdle too.. Just wanting to secure the bottom end for lots'o boost..

Before I cross bolted the block I would be worrying about the skimpy area above the crank...

You best fix for a 440 main issue is a 400 block. Especially with boost. Cap walk is a small issue compared with what happens when you stop that with cross bolts.
