Stock 440 dimensions? I haven't used Mopar size rods in a Mopar engine in over 20 years so I probably won't be much help. If you are looking for Mopar dimensions rods then start with Summit, 440Source, Molnar, etc. I suppose someone makes them. I use Chevy rods in all the Mopar engines I build.

Andy please explain to me a little bit the use of Chevy rods thank you thank

depends what your doing with the motor/car,is it street only, street strip, dedicated drag car, basiclly what your doing is like a 400 but a 383,stock yl rods is ok for the street

Car will be a street strip car and I do have a good set of LY 440 rods I didn’t know if they would be strong enough to handle the horsepower

What piston have you selected? A lot of 383 stroker pistons come with the .990 (chev) pin diameter instead of the 1.094 (mopar) diameter. You may have to follow what AndyF says above.

What power level are you intending to create?

My block is 40 over so I have to have a custom piston made which is going to be 10.5 to 1 And I’m looking at a solid camshaft around 550 lift I don’t know what the projected horsepower will be

LY rods used a pressed pin, do you want to use a pressed pin in a stroker motor? If so you'll need to be super careful with your piston selection. I'm not sure if anyone makes a 383 stroker piston designed to work with a stock LY rod. That isn't a popular combination.

Andy I don’t want to use a stock LY rod that’s why I put up this thread I don’t know much about building a stroker motor all I know is I have a 440 crankshaft that I’m buying from oldkimmer the counter weight of already been turned down If you would like to call me and talk about my build It would be greatly appreciate it 302-252-5896

It would be real simple to go to 440Source and buy pistons and rods already design for that build.

-440 Source
That would be all fine well and good but they don’t make 40 over Pistons they are custom Pistons so I have to have them made so they don’t have an application for 40 over

How about these; they offer .040's and add some Molnar rods part # DH6760YTB8-A

I want to thank everyone who responded in this thread you have helped me tremendously to find the parts I need for my build again I wanna thank you for your replies and I hope you all have a great day and good luck with your projects

The crank you use will determine whether or not you need “Mopar” or “Chevy” rods.

That being said, I doubt much of anything currently being produced to build a stroker 383 is going to facilitate the use of any Mopar rods.

Well..... maybe something done with a 3.75” stroke and the low deck main sizes.
But the more popular stuff with use Chevy based rods.
