456 gear with 29.5 slicks!

there 29.5/9/15s fixing to put in the gear and put the slicks on im just trying to figure out how bad its gonna kill my gear
 
in order to tell the effects of taller tires....one would have to know what the old slick size is...

now if the car does not have slicks on it at all...then you need to figure out what mph and rpm you want to be turning at the end of the 1/4 ...
 
it has street tires on it now i have never had slicks on it just got the car together we run 1/8 mile mostly with the street tires it ran 8.39 with a 193 60 ft time with a 3.55 gear at 88 mph im trying to get the car in the 7s do you think it is possible with the gear and slicks people was telling me that i needed to go to a smaller tire like a 28 in slick
 
On my 68 340 barracuda I run 4.56 but I have only run it with MT ET streets 28 inch. They are actually closer to 27. They were perfect with my set up. Then I went with 28 inch MT slicks. That killed some, But were ok. On my 340 Duster I have 4.88 and 29 inch slicks. I go through trap with them at 6800. My barracuda trapped at about 6200 with the ET streets.
 
Smallblock with those tires and gears will trap about 7k on a high 10 low 11 second pass. Good combo for 1/8 and 1/4
 
456s in my cuda and a 28x11.5x15 slick. It runs 7.0 1/8 mile and high 10s or low 11s in the 1/4. Goes through the 1/4 at 6800 rpm. 122 mph.
 
71 360 Dart with 10 x 29 x 15 Hoosier..and 4.56 goes thru trap a 6700 rpm at 120 mph
 
I said about . Been a while since I ran that combo. With 4.57s and 26x10.5s my car wasnt happy past the 1000 ft mark as I was on the 7k rev limiter chip.I switched to 30x10.5s for 1/4 passes.

I am running this same tire / gear combo in my Demon with 380 hp 360. I shift at 5800 and run out the back at 6100. ET 11.81, MPH 113.0
